Puppies Are Here!!!!!
Bean's sister (or is it her brother) has arrived!!! Bean's dam, Bossie, had her litter of three healthy puppies on Saturday, November 28, 2009. Two girls and a boy. Apparently everything went as expected and both mom and babies are doing nicely. While we won't be making our "picks" until the end of January, I am working on names already, and barely sleeping with anticipation of meeting them January 9th at the Indio dog show!!!

South Bay Kennel Club

Reserve Winners Bitch. Two days in a row. It may not be Winners Bitch or BoB, but it sure means the judge is paying attention to her. And this is only our third show in the ring together, with a reserve each weekend we've shown as a team. We're having fun, Bean and I, that's really what counts. Oh...and the photos, of course!!!!

South Bay Kennel Club
Day one of the South Bay Kennel Club show in Torrance, CA. Bean's sisters are not showing this weekend, so we thought we stood a good chance of getting somewhere. Alas, always a bridesmaid, never a bride...We took Reserve Winners Bitch again. The girly that took Winners Bitch was a very nice little tiny girly. Tomorrow is another chance. Fingers crossed.

Summerfest, Ventura, July 4th weekend, 2009
Beaten by her sister, the pick of the litter again!
We're looking forward to the South Bay Kennel Club show in Torrance at North High School August 8th and 9th. It's an out-door show and no sisters there, so maybe Bean has a better chance of doing something great!

Bean, Autumn and I went to the Summerfest cluster in Ventura over the July4th weekend. The weather was lovely, a bit overcast, breezy and cool. Bostons were in the ring by 8am all three mornings. WE learned a few things and got some great tips. We took reserve to sister Jazz on Friday and nothing else all weekend, but we had a blast. Autumn was the big winner, though. She came home with a new toy that will keep her little tummy happy and her obsessive behaviors busy. "Bob-a-Lot".

Autumn, Bean and I went to a photo shoot with Pam Marks of Pawprince Studio photography, http://www.pawprincestudios.com/ at Gabriolena Park in Lake View Terrace on June 14th. What a great job Pam does. A couple of times a year Pam puts out a call for her calendar shoot for purebred dogs. She is so generous, giving owners copies of her fabulous photos. Couldn't get such a nice professional photo taken for less. Here are the best (in my humble opinion) of my girls, Autumn and Bean.

Mission Circuit Results
Well, Bean and I didn't win anything much worth mentioning at Mission Circuit. Her biggest win was Reserve Winners Bitch on Sunday. The best thing out of the weekend was seeing her strut her stuff like she was the BoB. She loves being out there. She was competing against her two sisters in the 9-12 month old puppy class all weekend. "Pick of the litter", Jezabella beat her twice and she beat Jezabella twice. Julie handled her on Friday, which was one of the days she beat Jez, but Julie had handling conflicts the rest of the weekend. So, I handled Bean Saturday, Sunday and Monday. And apparently I didn't do to bad. I felt ok and even enjoyed being in the ring with my little dog. We've decided that I will handle her from now on. We took a professional photo for Reserve Winners Bitch and will post it when I receive it. For now, Julie took some lovely photos of Bean in the grassy area.

Mission Circuit is just around the corner. I have found that Bean's schedule has several conflicts with Julie's other dog's schedules. This means that I will probably be showing my own dog at least two out of the four days. The best thing about this is that if we happen to pull off any kind of win, it will be a very proud moment for Bean and me . If we don't fall on our faces, it will be a very proud moment for me. At the very least, it will be a learning experience for me and hopefully she will make me look good!

Apple Valley Kennel Club All Breed Show, March 7-8, 2009
Bean's first show. Looks like we've a winner on our hands with this little block head!!!
Saturday, March 7, 2009. Best of Breed.

Sunday, March 8, 2009. Winner's Bitch.

Monday, March 9, 2009
Now Bean enters the ring for the "Winners Bitch" competition. Don't worry kiddies, in the conformation world the word "Dog" refers to a male canine, the word "Bitch" refers to a female canine. We're not calling any of our pooches by dirty names!!! Here is Bean's competition with the rest of the Boston Terrier Bitches.
Perennial's Magical Fruit, "Bean" the Show Dog
Bean was entered into an all breed dog show March 7 and 8, 2009 in Victorville, CA hosted by the Apple Valley Kennel Club. At 7 months old, she was competing in the 6-9 month old puppy class. The following video tells this story.

Boston Meet
Well, Bean and Autumn and I were set to join a Boston Terrier play group this morning with a friend and her Boston...Allison and Rosie. We were all pretty excited. Autumn and I have been attending Pomeranian parties with a wonderful Pom group for a couple of years...but since they are Poms only, Bean cannot attend those parties. It was a very small group scheduled to meet at the Van Nuys Dog park this morning, but we were excited nonetheless.
Alli, Rosie, Bean and I were the only ones to show up!!! The hostess stood us up. Or at least we think she did. We don't really know what happened and we certainly hope nothing bad happened to her. But it got me to thinking...why not start a Boston Tea Party myself!
So, please watch the blog for the inaugural Boston Tea Party schedule. My yard is secure and there is plenty of parking on the property so I will probably schedule the event at my house in Northridge. Though it will have to wait for some weeks or even months since I don't have much lawn and am just now getting the yard to look nice. Maybe in the spring.
Any suggestions, please feel free to email me at perennialpooches@yahoo.com
